Dr. Mark Abdelmalek is a highly regarded board-certified dermatologist, skin cancer surgeon, and ABC News reporter.  As a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, Dr. Mark specializes in the precise surgical removal of skin cancer with expert reconstruction.  Dr. Mark spent more than a decade in academic medicine culminating as the Interim Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Drexel University.  While at Drexel he partnered with premier academic faculty to train a generation of excellent dermatologists and conduct clinical research.

Dr. Mark is also an award-winning medical and investigative reporter at ABC News.  Over the last decade, he has worked alongside ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer sharing important stories of our time with television audiences for Good Morning America, ABC World News, 20/20, and Nightline.  In 2016, Dr. Mark received an Alfred I. duPont Columbia Award, one of the most prestigious honors in journalism, widely regarded as the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prizes for broadcast news.

Dr. Mark was honored by his peers in 2016 with the prestigious Philadelphia Dermatological Society  ‘Founders Award’ for “devoting extraordinary time and talent as a teacher and clinician” and has been recognized by Castle Connolly and Philadelphia magazine as one of Philadelphia’s “Top Doctors” and “Rising Stars in Medicine.”
